Leadership and Management might seem to be the same but these two are entirely different fields. There are some points where both might show some similarities but majorly both of them are different from each other in various ways.

Management

Management revolves more around the job of a manager, taking care of various tasks and probably completing the particular tasks with the team as well. The job of a manager is to keep all the systems running smoothly. They do not set the goals and objectives for the team and the company that needs to be fulfilled within a given period neither they are allowed to take big risky decisions. Their job involves going with the flow meaning following whatever is going around in the office without raising a lot of questions.

Leadership

Leadership, on the other hand, is opposite to the management job. Leadership is more about taking the lead and steering the team and the company in the direction where the company will succeed. It also means that the Leader has the permission to change the goals and objectives of the company at any point he prefers and takes the decisions that he deems fit for everyone. Leaders have practically more power than the management level.

  • While in Management there is no risk at all because the manager knows everyone working in his team and always puts up his best people forward. He also knows which one is better for which job, therefore, is completely in control of the result and what steps do they need to take to get there. While in Leadership, the leader often has to take the risk, assigning the task to those unknown to him and has to wait until the results are in front of him which can be both good and bad.
  • In Management style the people working in a team are not given the chance to express themselves openly and present their ideas. They are expected to precisely complete the task that is given to them within the required time and hand it over while in leadership style, they are allowed and even required to give out creative ideas and express themselves. They are given the freedom to speak and suggest changes and views which can contribute to the betterment of the company thus helping it to benefit. Management is old school and leadership in advanced and ever-growing.
